![]() Goro stood just inside the door, shyly, arms crossed over his stomach. As it was, he nonchalantly folded up his newspaper and followed his son to the nursery. It was hard, these days, to get Goro to accept any kind of coddling, so he takes the opportunities when he can. Shido resisted the urge to squeal like a grade school girl. "Yes," he finally mumbled, "that would be nice." Shido waited, patient, until the brunette's face softened into something more like resignation. "Do you need any help getting ready for bed?" "Language," Shido said without heat, earning a stuck out tongue in retaliation. "I hate that smell," he grumbled, "it's too damned sweet." "Sure it isn't," Shido agreed with a smirk, "and your head space totally isn't encroaching, which is why I absolutely do not smell chocolate-hazlenut spread." "Da-ad!" Goro groaned, cheeks pink, "that's not the point of this at all." "You're right," he agreed, "and I am more than amenable to spending the night snuggling with you." The reminder set off a pang in Shido's chest. "Ah, well," Goro shifted uncomfortably against the door frame, "I'm heading to college soon, you know? We're not going to have this opportunity again for some time." All the more reason to do it, don't you think?" "I thought you were too old for that," Shido had teased. A majority of the time he prefers to sleep in his own bed, which is why Shido was surprised when Goro approached him last night and requested that they sleep together. That hasn't happened in a while Goro's older now and values his independence both in and out of head space. It comes up close enough to normal, maybe a bit warm because they're tucked into bed together. With that in mind, Shido scans Goro's forehead. No, better to have him wake up on his own, because then he'll likely be a clingy baby as opposed to a grumpy one. If Goro i s sick, waking him up will spell the end of the day before it has truly begun, and Shido does not want that. Opening it is no easy feat he has to move slowly so as not to disturb what might be a sick baby. Luckily, the fancy thermometer is in the drawer of the nightstand right beside him. It's a bit surprising that he's still asleep, then, and Shido hopes that he isn't sick. ![]() A bored Goro is an angry, mischievous brat on a good day and a downright nightmare on a bad day. When Goro is small, it's always a good idea to be prepared with plenty of enrichment. A glance at the clock has Shido frowning, thoughtfully, he expected to be awoken hours ago by a stuffed animal to the face. ![]() That explains his chest being wet, he thinks with a chuckle: Goro is d rooling, which he insists that he Does Not Do. A glance to the side explains why: against all odds, his boy is still asleep, body pressed flush to his side. It's shaping up to be a gorgeous Saturday. Masayoshi Shido wakes up to sunlight streaming through the curtains, body heavy and relaxed.
